What we found in every shop we checked

Aggregate results across 528 websites with a published trust report, recomputed daily. Last updated 31 octobre 2026. No company is named on this page — these are population statistics, not accusations.

Journalists and consumer-protection organisations are welcome to quote any figure here with a link back.

The padlock proves almost nothing

96.6% of every site we checked serves valid HTTPS — including sites that failed on every other measure. A certificate costs nothing and takes minutes, so it separates almost no one from anyone. The signals that actually vary are duller: only 50.2% publish a complete set of policy pages.

Two in five cannot be matched to a company

45.1% of checked sites could not be matched to any entry in a supported company register. That is not proof of fraud — sole traders and non-EU sellers often have nothing to match — but it does mean there is no independent record of who is behind the shop. More telling: 19.1% state a different seller name on different pages of their own site.

Most shops are harder to check than they need to be

For 21.8% of sites we could not establish a registration date at all, usually because the registry withholds it or a privacy proxy sits in front of it. A further 20.5% actively block automated checks. Neither is evidence of wrongdoing, but both mean a buyer has less to go on, not more.

The Swiss slice

104 of the checked sites use a .ch domain. Their median score is 61 out of 100, and 44.2% could be matched to a verified entry in the Swiss commercial register. A .ch domain is not a Swiss-company guarantee: anyone can register one.

How the scores spread

The median score across all checked sites is 50 out of 100. Most sites are neither clearly fine nor clearly fraudulent — they sit in the middle, where the honest answer is that not enough can be verified either way.

How these numbers were produced

Every figure is computed from the 528 most recent published reports, one per domain, using the same evidence the individual report pages show. Percentages are the share of checked domains carrying that signal. Categories that could not be evaluated are excluded rather than counted as negative.
