Terms of use

What this service is

CanITrustThis produces evidence-based trust assessments of websites and AI-likelihood assessments of images. Reports summarize the evidence available to us at scan time. They are informational tools, not legal determinations, financial advice or guarantees.

No accusations

A low trust score means we found warning signals or could not verify information — it does not assert that a business is fraudulent. A high score reduces, but never eliminates, risk. Always use your own judgement for significant decisions.

AI detection results

AI-likelihood results are probabilistic estimates and must not be used as the sole basis for academic, employment, legal or other consequential decisions about a person.

Acceptable use

  • no bulk scanning, scraping or automated harvesting of reports
  • no use of reports to harass, defame or unfairly target businesses or individuals
  • no attempts to manipulate scores or abuse the analysis infrastructure
  • only upload images you have the right to analyse

Site owners

If you believe a report about your website is based on incorrect evidence, contact us with verifiable documentation and we will re-examine it. Scores cannot be paid for or purchased.

Prices and payment

All prices are shown and charged in Swiss francs (CHF). The price shown is the total amount charged; no additional taxes are added at checkout. Payments are processed by Stripe. Subscriptions renew monthly until cancelled. You can cancel at any time from the billing portal; cancellation takes effect at the end of the paid period, and there are no pro-rata refunds for the remaining period.

Refunds

A website check (CHF 1.00) and the buyer report (CHF 4.90) are one-off purchases delivered immediately. We refund on request within 14 days of purchase if we could not deliver what you paid for — for example the check never finished or no report could be generated — or for an accidental duplicate charge. Email hello@canitrustthis.app with your receipt. A refund ends the related access: buyer reports are revoked automatically when the refund is issued. Mandatory consumer rights are unaffected.

Governing law

These terms are governed by Swiss law. The place of jurisdiction is Steffisburg, Switzerland, subject to mandatory consumer-protection rules on venue.

Liability

The service is provided “as is” without warranties. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for decisions made based on reports or for the availability of the service.
